Islamabad, May 3 (Xinhua-ANI): At least 15 people were killed and 21 others were injured when a bus overturned in a mountainous area in northern Pakistan early on Thursday morning, reported local media.
At least six security personnel were killed in the accident, said local Urdu TV channel Dunya, adding that there were altogether 19 security personnel on the bus when the accident happened.
All the injured have been shifted to hospital and hospital sources said many of the injured were in critical condition, indicating a possible rise in death toll.
The accident took place before 7:00 a.m. local time when a bus heading from Rawalpindi to Gilgit, capital city of Gilgit- Baltistan in northern Pakistan, turned turtle in the Koza Kamila area of Kohistan, a district some 100 kilometers southwest of Gilgit.
Some local media said that the bus fell into a ravine after it overturned due to overspeed. (Xinhua-ANI)
