New Delhi, May 2(ANI): Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Kapil Sibal has expressed concern over recent incidents of alleged discrimination of students from the northeast.
Sibal had earlier requested the University Grants Commission (UGC) to formulate regulations to prevent discrimination in educational institutions. UGC in its meeting last month has finalized the regulations.
According to regulations, every institution is required to establish an Ombudsman to hear complaints of discrimination and racial profiling in institutions.
In a statement, Sibal said the educational institutions should provide an "inclusive and harmonious platform" to students. (ANI)
