Washington, May 2 (ANI): The favorability rating of the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) among American citizens has declined to a 25-year low, according to a poll released.
According to the Pew Research Center survey, only a 52 percent have a favorable opinion of SCOTUS, which marked the lowest figure in the history of the poll, indicating a steep drop from a high of 80 percent in 1994.
About 29 percent of the public said they have an unfavorable view of the institution, just one percentage point short of the highest negative rating ever, in 2005.
Figures suggested the relatively low favorability ratings was starkly evident across party lines with 56 percent of Republicans, 52 percent of Democrats and 52 percent of independents claiming to have a positive view of the court. (ANI)
