London, May 1 (ANI): The Beach Boys are celebrating 50 years of hits with a 40-date anniversary world tour.
Brian Wilson, Mike Love and Al Jardine - with David Marks and Bruce Johnston replacing the late Dennis and Carl Wilson - kicked off in Arizona last week, playing together for the first time since 1996.
Jardine, 69, spoke of his joy at the reunion which was sparked when the group performed 'Good Vibrations' with Maroon 5 and Foster the People at the Grammys earlier this year.
"When you're recording three albums a year, as we did in the early days, it's yesterday's news," the Mirror quoted him as saying.
"You're on to the next thing. Boom. That stuff gets parked somewhere though, and now it's becoming unveiled again," he said.
After getting together in the 1960s, the band enjoyed huge success throughout the following decade.
Wilson last performed with The Beach Boys during the making of their 1996 album 'Stars And Stripes Vol. 1', and has toured as a solo artist since.
He had hinted earlier this year that he wanted to reform with the surviving members. (ANI)
