New Delhi, April 30 (IANS) The Delhi Police Monday filed a fresh supplementary chargesheet in a court here in the cash-for-vote scandal.
Police also submitted a CD containing visuals of currency notes used in the scandal and interviews of three accused - then Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs Faggan Singh Kulaste, Mahavir Bhagora and Ashok Argal. The visuals were recorded just after the sting operation, said the police in the charge sheet.
Police had earlier filed three chargesheets in the months of August, September, and October, 2011 in this case.
Meanwhile, Anil Soni, counsel of Kulaste, requested the court to direct police for further investigation in this case and to trace the money trail.
Soni has also asked police to search a man, seen wearing a yellow shirt in the visuals, to solve the source of money.
"This man had actively used his mobile phone to contact (then Samajwadi Party leader) Amar Singh from co-accused Argal's house, as seen on the recorded CDs, but police have deliberately left out this aspect from investigation."
"Police have neither shown the man wearing yellow shirt to be wanted/absconder nor have seriously tried to find or trace him. If he is not traceable, it can be inferred he is murdered so that trail of money could not established and the source of money remains a secret forever," Soni added.
Special Judge Sangita Dhingra Sehgal has listed the matter for May 10 for further hearing in the case.
Delhi Police, in their charge sheet filed earlier, held that during the investigation sufficient evidence had come on record that on the morning of July 22, 2008, Amar Singh hatched a criminal conspiracy with his secretary to deliver cash of Rs.1 crore as illegal gratification.
On that day, the three BJP MPs waved wads of currency notes in the Lok Sabha, alleging they were given the money to vote in favour of the Manmohan Singh government in the trust vote.
