Cameron Diaz 'loves Brit men'

London, Apr 30 (ANI): Cameron Diaz, who has dated some of the most famous men in the US, has revealed that it is British men that set her heart racing.

The 39-year-old actress singled out Colin Firth, the Oscar-winning actor, as "the perfect Englishman".

According to Diaz, British men are charming and chivalrous, and claims they are qualities that American men lack.

"I love British men's sense of humour and the sense of chivalry and charm. It's something that is innately a part of the culture - it's not the same in America," the Telegraph quoted her as telling Harper's Bazaar UK.

She reserved her highest praise for Firth, who won a large female fanbase in the UK when he played Mr Darcy in the 1995 television adaptation of Jane Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice'.

"He's the perfect Englishman. Just enough of the self-effacing to a point that it's comfortable for other people, but also totally charming and engaging to where he makes you feel special. He's got that British honesty," she said.

The actress's highest profile boyfriends to date have both been US celebrities. She was romantically-involved with Justin Timberlake, the singer, in the middle of last decade.

More recently, she dated the New York Yankees baseball player Alex Rodriguez, who this month described the actress as "one of the greatest human beings I've ever met".

She said that her love for all things British started when her grandfather watched repeats of 'The Benny Hill Show' on television.

"I love the Brits - I always have. I have a weak spot for them. I grew up on Monty Python. I love Little Britain. My grandfather used to watch Benny Hill all the time.

"What I love about London is all the green spaces - you know how every little neighbourhood will have a little park or a square. I love London," she added. (ANI)
