London, Apr 29 (ANI): Shisha bars could be the deadly new answer to alcopops, a colloquial term describing certain flavoured alcoholic beverages, health experts have warned.
According to a survey, one in 10 white Brits has puffed on the traditional Arabic water pipes.
Experts are "flabbergasted" as more teens take up the killer habit.
One hour of shisha smoking is as harmful as puffing 100 cigarettes.
"You can see why shisha is so attractive to young people - it is similar to alcopops," the Sun quoted Coventry City Council official Andrew Tandy as saying.
"It comes in fruit flavours and is sold in colourful packaging with very small warnings.
"You wouldn't know it had tobacco in it," he said.
The number of outdoor shisha bars has exploded since 2007's indoor smoking ban, with some cities seeing a 200 percent rise, the British Heart Foundation said. (ANI)
