Washington, Apr 29(ANI): Relations between Pakistan and the United States are yet to mend after one year after the killing of former Al Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden.
According to the CBS News, the latest round of talks between the two countries failed to yield tangible results, though U.S. Special Envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan Marc Grossman said Pakistan has an important role in play in restoring peace and normalcy in Afghanistan.
CBS News said Grossman left Islamabad with no agreement on re-opening of NATO supply cross- routes that have been shut since the deadly November 26 airstrike.
The report said Pakistan has demanded a formal apology from the Obama administration, which the latter has refused to give.
US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta said Washington is not prepared to render any apologies to Pakistan.
"The one thing all of us feel pretty good about that were involved in this operation is that, as a result of what we did, America is safer," said Panetta. (ANI)
