Washington, Apr 28 (ANI): The United States said it continues to work with Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and believes he remains the leader of Pakistan's democratic government.
"There was a court decision, he was given a 30 second sentence, I believe, and he remains the prime minister of Pakistan... And, as such, we continue to work with him and Ambassador Grossman did meet with him in Pakistan," the Daily Times quoted State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland, as saying.
Special U.S. Envoy for Pakistan and Afghanistan Marc Grossman, also met with President Asif Ali Zardari and Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar during his visit, which was aimed at repairing the strained ties between the two countries.
Nuland acknowledged that both Pakistan and the U.S. have more work to do together, with both sides having set some terms for continuing discussions, she noted. (ANI)
