Moscow, April 28 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Four people, including two former policemen, have been arrested in Russia on charges of poisoning at least 11 people in a bid to illegally seize their apartments, officials said Saturday.
The other two include a real estate agent and a woman whose occupation was not revealed. They were arrested in Orenburg city in the Urals region in western Russia.
According to investigators, two bodies of a mother and daughter were found in April in their apartment. Police said both women had been poisoned shortly after they had sold their apartment.
Investigators are currently probing another nine cases, involving people who had allegedly been poisoned after selling their property.
Officials would now exhume the 11 corpses and carry out "several complicated examinations, a number of which must be held in other regions of the country", said a member of the regional investigative committee.
