Olympic Stadium test event to be held in May

London, April 28 (IANS) A test event at the Olympic Stadium to familiarise athletes with the facilities will be held from May 4 to May 7.

Organisers hope it will enable athletes to become accustomed to the facilities.

"This will form an important part of some athletes' preparation," UK Athletics head coach Charles van Commenee was quoted as saying by Xinhua.

"Preparing our athletes for what to expect when they walk into the Olympic Stadium at Games time is almost impossible.

"At this event they will get the chance to familiarise themselves with the Olympic Stadium and we can remove a number of unknown factors for them."
