Chelsea favorites to sign highly rated Porto striker Hulk

London, Apr 28(ANI): Chelsea are close to signing Porto striker Hulk in a reported 35 million pound deal following his agent's revelation that he was in talks with four Premier League clubs.

Hulk's agent Theodoro Fonseca had earlier named Tottenham Hotspurs as the only English club he was in talks with, but Chelsea and Manchester City are known to have registered an interest, and Liverpool are also thought to be in the hunt for Hulk.

Porto initially insisted on the full 85 million pound release clause in Hulk's contract, but president Pinto da Costa has admitted he will accept less than half as much, The Daily Mail reports.

Chelsea would want Hulk to operate in an attacking left-sided role, alongside their other prime target Edinson Cavani of Napoli, but they face competition from other clubs with Fonseca admitting: "In the last week or so, I have been talking to four Premier League clubs about Hulk, and Tottenham are one of them."
