London, Apr 28(ANI): Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has said either of the two Manchester club's supporters would be left sick with regret after losing the Premier League title, since it involves their most bitter rivals.
Ferguson has hailed Monday's potentially epic title decider at the Etihad Stadium as the 'derby game of all derby games'.
He has said the club that comes off second-best will feel they have thrown away the title, and would regret it for long time.
"I'd agree with that. I think there will be sense of that from both parties. If one loses, they are going to be reflecting on what may have been," The Daily Mirror quoted Ferguson, as saying.
"But then you look at the points totals that both teams are probably gonna amass and you'll see that it's championship form. But, yes, whoever loses will be tinged with regret, simply because it's a derby thing," he added.
"This is the derby game of all derby games. City are our nearest rivals and it makes everybody step up a notch in terms of anticipation. It means everything to the supporters," he said.
Ferguson said winning the title this season would be extra special for United's fans because it would involve their bitter local rivals City.
"I think our fans would look upon it as special one because it's against their most bitter rivals. I don't think you can get away from that. If you asked any of the fans, then I know what they'd say. For me, it's another league," Ferguson said. (ANI)
