Sam Worthington tipped as hot favourite to play next 007

London, Fri, 27 Apr 2012 ANI

London, Apr 27 (ANI): Sam Worthington is most likely to step into James Bond's shoes when Daniel Craig quits the 007 series, according to a bookmaker.

Craig, 44, is currently shooting scenes for his third outing as the suave superspy in 'Skyfall', which is due for release in 2014, and shows no signs of retiring from the role.

But when he eventually moves on from the franchise, 'Avatar' star Worthington - who was born in Britain but grew up in Australia - is hot favourite to take over the coveted part, followed by actor Tom Hardy and Shame star Michael Fassbender.

"Sam apparently auditioned for Casino Royale and has proven his action hero mettle in Avatar and Clash/Wrath of the Titans," the Daily Express quoted a spokesman for bookmaker William Hill, which drew up the odds as saying.

"The only downside is that he is not English," the spokesman added. (ANI)
