Islamabad, Fri, 27 Apr 2012 ANI

Islamabad, Apr 27(ANI): Pakistan's selection committee has prepared a list of 12 fast bowlers to be supervised by coach Dav Whatmore at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore.

The short listed players consist of a good mix of young fast bowlers who are hoping to break into the national squad and some have already represented Pakistan.

Among those who have a chance of re-establishing themselves are Mohammed Sami, Rao Iftikhar Anjum, Junaid Khan and Mohammad Khalil.

New faces like Sohail Khan, Bilawal Bhatti, Mohammad Talha, Tabish Khan, Sadaf Hussain, Rahat Ali and Imran Khan will also try to impress Whatmore.

Pakistan's chief selector Iqbal Qasim has said that the bowlers who have been selected for the camp are the ones who have the potential of representing Pakistan.

"The selection committee has recommended these names for the training camp. The purpose of holding the camp is to show their skills to Whatmore. It will help him assess our backup strength," The Express Tribune quoted Qasim, as saying.

"These are the bowlers who we believe have the potential to make the cut in the future. Those who have already played for Pakistan are selected on the basis of their domestic performance," he added. (ANI)
