Hillary Clinton to visit India, China, Bangladesh

Washington, April 26 (IANS) US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will travel to India, China and Bangladesh next month to discuss bilateral relations, the State Department said Thursday.

 

Clinton will visit Kolkata, where she will meet state government officials and representatives of civil society organisations, State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said.

 

In New Delhi, she will meet Indian government officials and discuss the upcoming US-India Strategic Dialogue to be held in Washington June 13, Xinhua reported citing a statement.

 

During her stay in Dhaka, Clinton will meet government officials and civil society representatives to review the "robust" bilateral cooperation across a range of political, economic and security matters, Nuland said.

 

In Beijing on May 3-4, Clinton and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner will join their Chinese co-chairs, Vice Premier Wang Qishan and State Councilor Dai Bingguo, for the fourth round of the US-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue.
