Patna, April 24 (IANS) A groom, who had been married hours earlier, and six others were killed in a tragic road accident in Bihar that also left the bride critically injured. Three children were amongst those killed, police said.
The celebrations quickly turned to mourning as seven people of the marriage party, including the groom and his father, were killed in Aurangabad town, about 150 km from here, when a police vehicle collided with their Indica.
The wedding had been solemnised Monday night in Jharkhand and the group was on their way to Chandauli in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh, police said.
Officials said three children are also among the seven dead. The bride and two others were admitted to hospital in a critical condition.
A case has been lodged against the driver of the police vehicle.
