Teen kills aunt, two others to avenge grudge

Delhi,Crime/Disaster/Accident, Mon, 23 Apr 2012 IANS

New Delhi, April 23 (IANS) Harbouring a grudge against his aunt ever since her complaint led to his mother severely beating him over Rs.50 he had borrowed, a 16-year-old boy stabbed his aunt to death with a pair of scissors as well as two other women who tried to intervene, police said Monday.

The boy, a factory worker, has been arrested. The incident took place around 9.30 p.m. Sunday in west Delhi's Jahangir Puri area.

The boy had locked himself inside a toilet in the house after the crime.

The deceased have been identified as the boy's maternal aunt, Vineeta, 30, the boy's landlady, Santra, 40, and her daughter Jyoti, 24.

Jyoti was pursuing her LLB from Rohtak in Haryana.

The landlady's son Satya Parkash informed police about the murders.

Satya Parkash told police that he heard a commotion from the tenants quarters on the first floor and of someone crying.

"Hearing the commotion his mother and sister rushed upstairs. He also followed them. He saw the boy holding a pair of scissors and repeatedly stabbing Vineeta who was crying and blood was oozing out. When his mother and sister tried to save Vineeta and to overpower the boy, he stabbed them too," Parkash told police.

In the meantime, neighbours hearing the noise came to the house and tried to hold the boy.

"The accused ran to the second floor of the house and entered a toilet. Satya Parkash bolted the toilet door and called the police," said Deputy Commissioner of Police, Meenu Chaudhary.

The culprit has been handed over to the Juvenile Welfare Officer (JWO).

During investigation, the accused revealed that sometime ago he had borrowed Rs.50 from Vineeta who informed his mother.

"His mother beat him up badly as he had not informed her about the money he had borrowed. Since then he had a grudge against his aunt and had vowed revenge," said the official.
