New York, Apr 23 (ANI): The US army has booted Ted Nugent from the bill of a June 23 concert at Fort Knox in the wake of rocker's fiery remarks about President Obama.
The controversial Detroit rocker made anti-Obama comments at a recent NRA convention.
"After learning of opening act Ted Nugent's recent public comments about the president of the United States, Fort Knox leadership decided to cancel his performance on the installation," the Army wrote on its Facebook page.
Speaking at the convention earlier this month, Nugent said the government was "wiping it's a-with the Constitution," called the commander-in-chief "vile" and "America hating," and insisted that he would "either be dead or in jail by this time next year" if Obama is reelected in November.
Co-headliners REO Speedwagon and Styx would remain on the bill, but the Army said it would offer a refund to anyone hoping to see Nugent take the stage at Godman Army Airfield, the New York Daily News reported.
The 63-year-old's rant also earned him a visit from the Secret Service on Thursday.
The American guitarist later wrote on his website that he had a "good, solid" talk with the agents and that the issue has been resolved. (ANI)
