Houston (US), April 22 (Xinhua-ANI): Chinese film and TV makers won a number of top prizes at the 45th Houston International Film Festival here on Saturday.
"Three Kingdoms," a Chinese TV series which tells the story of an epic warring era between different kingdoms of a divided ancient China, won the Grand Remi Award at this year's festival.
"Xi'an Horticultural Expo Closing Ceremony" won the Gold Remi Award under the TV and cable category. "My Chinese Acquaintances" snatched the Gold Remi Award for documentaries. Two other Chinese products, "China's Beating Heart" and "25 Words," won a silver and a bronze.
The Houston International Film Festival, founded in 1961, is one of the three competitive international film festivals in North America, together with San Francisco and New York. It is also the oldest independent film and video festival in the world.
This year's festival, which began on April 13, received about 4,000 entries from around the world. (Xinhua-ANI)
