London, Apr 22(ANI): Manchester City winger Adam Johnson has admitted that failure to win the Premier League this season would be a huge blow for the team.
Roberto Mancini's men led the title race for most of the campaign, but they now trail neighbors Manchester United by five points with just four games remaining.
"There is a lot of pressure on the club now and people expect us to be pushing for all the major trophies. But I think the massive expectations are reasonable when you look at the size and quality of our squad and the investment the owner has put in," The Sun quoted Johnson, as saying.
"With the squad we have we should be winning things. It's a season that promised a lot, and if we don't win the league now, it will invariably be met with massive disappointment," he added.
"At the moment it's United's title to throw away - they are in the driving seat. If we beat them at home and cut the lead to two points then a lot of people will start talking again. All we can do is keep plugging away. But if United win every game they win the league. It's as simple as that," he said. (ANI)
