Cloudy skies, light rain keep Delhi cool

New Delhi, April 22 (IANS) Cloudy skies and light rainfall in some areas Sunday kept Delhi's maximum temperature two notches below normal at 35.6 degrees Celsius. The met department has forecast a cloudy Monday.

 

"Monday should see partly cloudy skies which could clear up later during the day. The maximum and minimum temperatures should be 36 and 23 degrees Celsius, respectively," an official at the India Meteorological Department (IMD) told IANS.

 

The national capital saw a light drizzle of 0.06 mm from 8.30 a.m. until 5.30 p.m.

 

The minimum temperature hovered around 23.4 degrees Celsius, average for this time of the season, while the humidity ranged between a maximum of 58 percent and a minimum of 24 percent.

 

Saturday's maximum temperature was recorded three notches below average at 34.8 degree Celsius, while the minimum settled to an average of 23.6 degrees Celsius.
