New York, Apr 22 (ANI): LEGOs for girls, which have been described as "sexist" girl-power activists, will not be getting a breast reduction any time soon.
The activists are demanding less stereotyping of women in the 'Friends' line, which features so-called LadyFigs hanging out at a hot tub, a pool and a beauty parlour, among other locations, the New York Daily News reported.
Girl-power activists met the Danish company's bosses on Friday to discuss what it says are "sexist" themes running through the boy-dominated empire.
Lego, which is behind the interlocking plastic building blocks loved by children since 1949, promised to make some changes, but did not commit to changing the curvy characters in its new pinkalicious Friends building sets.
However, the activists from the SPARK movement - which campaigns against sexualization of girls - were apparently happy with the 90-minute Manhattan pow wow.
"They said we will see some changes in the next couple of years," said Dana Edell, the Brooklyn-based executive director of SPARK.
"They absolutely listened to us," she added.
"It turns out a lot of the things we have requested they have been thinking about and are in the works."
The group desires more female figurines in mainstream construction sets, more girls in marketing materials and less stereotyping in the Friends line. (ANI)
