Guwahati, April 21 (IANS) Five cadres of the anti-talk faction of the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) were arrested by police in two separate incidents in Upper Assam's Tinsukia district Saturday, police said.
The first incident took place at Sivsagar district where police have arrested Ajay Gogoi and Purna Lahon for their alleged involvement in the bomb blasts on railway tracks in the district
Police said interrogations of both the cadres are on and added that Gogoi is a relative of senior anti-talk faction leader Pradip Gogoi.
In another incident, police arrested three cadres of the outfit after a gunfight near Doomduma in Upper Assam's Tinsukia district on Saturday evening. A pistol was also recovered from the three cadres identified as Baba Gogoi, Bogen Moran and Babul Baruah.
Gogoi and Moran were also injured during the exchange of fire, police said adding that both the injured cadres were admitted in a local hospital for treatment.
