McIlroy and Wozniacki attend first day of Newbury

London, Apr 21 (ANI): Golfer Rory McIlroy and his tennis player girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki, who are at the top of their sporting game, appear to be very much in love.

The couple, nicknamed 'Wozzilroy', spent Thursday at Newbury and could barely keep their hands off each other - despite the fact she appeared to have towered over him in a pair of high heels, the Daily Mail reported.

Caroline, who is 5ft 10in, looked elegant in a black lace dress and blazer while 5ft 9in Rory opted for a smart suit.

The pair were joined by The Queen on the eve of her 80th birthday, who looked regal in coral, brightening up the dull day with her colourful outfit.

At just 21, Wozniacki is ranked the world No1 seed on the Women's Tennis Association.

The incredible feat made her the first Danish player to hold the top spot.

The pair, who has been dating a year, took time out of their busy sporting schedules to enjoy an afternoon.

The 22-year-old's career has also been on the rise, having won the US Open last June and being placed No4 in the Official World Golf Ranking.

But despite their look of love, the journey hasn't been plain sailing for McIlroy, 22.

He was actually dating long-term girlfriend Holly Sweeney for six years when he met Wozniacki at a boxing match in Germany last July.

The sporting heroes were seated together to watch David Haye and Wladimir Klitschko, before he swiftly ended his romance with Sweeney.

And having recovered from the humiliation, Sweeney had a dig at her former flame on Twitter.

Last week she retweeted a comment saying: 'Rory McIlroy wrist injury fears: Well that's what happens when ye get rid of yer girlfriend! :P' (ANI)
