Margao, April 20 (IANS) The All India Football Federation (AIFF) disciplinary committee Friday fined East Bengal's Australian striker Tolgay Ozbey for assaulting the Nehru Stadium's senior ground supervisor Raju Adpaikar during an I-League clash here in January.

The committee met here Thursday and gave a patient hearing to East Bengal manager Swapan Bal, who represented Ozbey, Adpaikar and Goa Football Association (GFA) secretary-general Alberto Colaco.

The committee Friday said that Ozbey was guilty of breaching the code of conduct and fined him Rs.50,000.

The incident took place on the eve of East Bengal's I-League clash with Sporting Clube de Goa.

Adpaikar had asked East Bengal players to vacate the ground and allow his staff to do the markings since Dempo Sports Club were scheduled to play Churchill Brothers later in the day.

East Bengal coach Trevor Morgan got into an argument with Adpaikar prompting a furious reaction from Ozbey.
