The Hague, April 20 (IANS) Dutch football club Ajax made its first signing for the 2012/2013 season by signing Danish international Lasse Schone on a free transfer from NEC Nijmegen. It has also shown interest in Luciano Narsingh and Niklas Moisander.
The 25-year-old midfielder Schone agreed a three-year contract until 2015 with the current leader of the Dutch Eredivisie. He had played for the youth team of sc Heerenveen, De Graafschap and in 2008 moved to NEC. This season he scored 10 goals in 30 league matches, reported Xinhua.
"A good feeling for me is always the most important," Schone said on the Ajax website.
"Of course, the fact that Ajax plays European football every year is important, but immediately after the first contact my feeling at this club was well. That counts for me."
The Danish international will be the 21st Dane to play for Ajax.
"A lot of great Danes have played here. It's wonderful that I am at the same club as Michael Laudrup once was. He is my role model," said Schone.
Ajax has two more transfer targets this summer, Dutch winger Luciano Narsingh of sc Heerenveen and Finish defender Niklas Moisander of AZ Alkmaar.
Amsterdam born Narsingh has a contract until 2013 at sc Heerenveen.
"I know Luciano prefers to move to Ajax," Johan Hansma, technical director of Heerenveen said.
