Man U fans brand midfielder Young's diving antics as 'disgrace'

London, Apr 20(ANI): Manchester United fans have blasted midfielder Ashley Young for his diving antics, branding them as a disgrace.

Young, who joined United at the start of the current season, has faced a bombardment of criticism for his deliberate falls against both Queens Park Ranger and Aston Villa.

Even United legend Bryan Robson has warned Young that his theatrics may come back to haunt him.

In a contemptuous editorial, influential fanzine Red Issue derided Young, criticizing him for 'his latest disgraceful dive', and added 'diving is cheating', and said his behavior is a betrayal of the code of conduct instilled at Old Trafford by legendary boss Matt Busby.

"If anything is to be gained from football, it is to be gained by winning or losing with dignity," The Sun quoted the editorial saying Busby's lines.

The magazine also described former United star and Sky pundit Gary Neville's attempts to justify diving and other forms of cheating as 'depressing'. (ANI)
