KEC International bags new orders worth Rs.1,416 crore

New Delhi, April 20 (IANS) Infrastructure major KEC International Friday said it has bagged orders worth Rs.1,416 crore across all its divisions.

 

The company won orders worth Rs.320 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (PGCIL) for design, supply and construction of 765 kV double circuit transmission line on turnkey basis between Wardha and Aurangabad in Maharashtra, it said in a regulatory filing.

 

The total line length is 178 km and the completion period is 32 months.

 

From Bangladesh, the firm bagged an order worth Rs.243 crore from Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Ltd. for design, supply and construction of 230 kV double circuit transmission line on turnkey basis between Barisal-Bhola-Borhanuddin.

 

The project is to be completed in 24 months.

 

From DR Congo, it bagged an order of Rs.213 crore from Societe Nationale D'electricite for supply and installation of optical power ground wire on the existing 220 kV and 500 kV transmission line on turnkey basis. The project duration is 17 months and the total line length is 2,200 km.

 

SAE Towers, the subsidiary of the firm, bagged an order for Rs.207 crore for tower supply to the United States, Mexico and Brazil.

 

In the power system business, the firm bagged an order from Kenya Electricity Transmission Company worth Rs.60 crore while it secured a Rs.145 crore order in cable business. In telecom business it bagged an order worth Rs.184 crore from PGCIL and in water business an order worth Rs.44 crore from Madhya Pradesh water resources department.

 

"Our total order inflow for the year FY 2012 is over Rs.6,500 crore. The good thing is that orders have been spread across various business, geographies and customers," said Ramesh Chandak, managing director and chief executive officer, KEC International.

 

"We have a good order book which gives a good visibility for FY 2013," he added.
