Abu Dhabi, April 19 (IANS/WAM) A senior UN official has praised the UAE for its efforts in combating human trafficking.
The UN Special Rapporteur on trafficking in persons Joy Ngozi Ezeilo said the UAE was among the countries to realize the seriousness of the crime.
After visiting the Ewa'a Shelter for Women and Children in Sharjah, she said setting up of such centres was a "step forward" in providing protection and care to the victims.
