Beijing, April 19 (IANS) Three crocodiles broke loose and escaped in China while being moved to a new location in the Yancheng Safari Park in Jiangsu province.
Two of them were caught Wednesday while one still remains at large, reported Shanghai Daily.
According to the China News Service, the crocodiles were being shipped from their hibernation house to an outdoor site Wednesday morning. The pickup truck, being driven too fast, overturned after hitting a pile of sand, allowing the three reptiles to crawl away.
The runaway crocodile was seen entering a river that joins the city moat, but its handler said the crocodile would not hurt people because its mouth had been tied up before the move.
