New Delhi, April 19 (IANS) Delhi experienced a warm and humid day Thursday, with the maximum temperature at 36.7 degrees Celsius, a notch above the average for the season. However, the weatherman held out hopes of a respite from the heat.
"Partly cloudy sky with possibility of light rain or thunder storm is likely at night. Maximum and minimum temperatures will stay around 36 and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively, Friday," said an official from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
"The showers are likely to bring down the mercury," the met official added.
Minimum temperature early in the day settled at 21.7 degrees Celsius, average for the season. Rainfall in the last 24 hours was traces (not recordable), the IMD said.
Humidity during the day was at an average of 71 percent.
