Karachi, Apr 16(ANI): Pakistan is set to host international cricket after a three year hiatus with Bangladesh agreeing to play two matches in the country this month.
Both the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have agreed to the two-match itinerary and tabled their proposal to the ICC executive board.
The International Cricket Council has requested the PCB to provide them with details of the security arrangement details for the proposed one-day match on April 29 and the Twenty20 encounter on April 30.
"The ICC Board were informed today that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have agreed the Bangladesh tour of Pakistan will take place and will involve one One-Day International and one Twenty20 International to be held in Lahore," the Daily Mirror quoted an ICC statement, as saying.
"The ICC Board, having due regard to its duty of care to match officials and other ICC staff, requested that the PCB to immediately provide a comprehensive security plan for consideration," he added.
BCB President Mustafa Kamal welcomed the agreement between his board and the PCB.
"The public of Pakistan have been deprived of cricket and we felt that we needed to support them. The reception we received when we toured Lahore and Karachi on our security visit was overwhelming," he added.
No full-member international side has toured the country since a terror attack on a Sri Lanka team bus in March 2009 that killed six police officers and a driver besides injuring several players and officials. (ANI)
