Patna, Apr 15 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday defended its Himachal Pradesh government over the land dispute case with Army.
Speaking to mediapersons in Patna, BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said the lease of the grounds had expired and it was now the decision of the administration when to the renew it.
"Whenever the government grants lease for any project it is given with an expiry date and after the expiry date is passed, whether to renew the lease or not is discussed after examining the condition of the lease. In this issue also after thorough discussion a decision will be taken and there is no need or space for such false accusations," said Hussain.
Earlier, Anurag Thakur, president of the HPCA and son of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal had took out a rally in Shimla on April 7, seeking the ground's transfer to the local administration.
The Army, on its part, had said that the ground was of strategic importance as a forward logistic and operational base for operations in the sector adjoining Himachal Pradesh.
It also added that the country's security couldn't be ignored for any game. (ANI)
