Three in four Brits want human rights act dumped: Poll

London, April 15 (ANI): Nearly 72 percent people in the UK believe that human rights laws are being misused by criminals and should be scrapped, according to a poll.

According to the YouGov survey, three out of four Brits think human rights laws are a charter for crooks and cheats.

Even youngsters and EU-loving Liberal Democrats believe the Human Rights Act has outlived its usefulness.early half of 18 to 24-year-olds, 48 per cent, believe it is time for change, compared with 19 per cent against, The Sun reports.

Among the Liberal Democrats supporters, 57 percent of people were disappointed with the law as compared to 36 percent who were satisfied.

Blair Gibbs, head of crime and justice at Policy Exchange who commissioned the poll said that terror suspect Abu Qatada using the European Court of Human Rights to avoid deportation have convinced many of the need for reform. (ANI)
