New Delhi, April 14 (IANS) A day before elections to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), the Delhi Police Saturday arrested seven people for trying to smuggle illicit liquor into the city in three separate incidents, police said.
In the first incident-- Satbir Singh, 30 was arrested for attempting smuggling 47 cartons of illicit liquor in a truck from Haryana. He was caught near Neb Sarai in south Delhi early Saturday morning.
In the second incident, three people -- Vishal Singh, 35, Surender 24 and Deepak, 29 were arrested from Mahipalpur area of south Delhi trying to smuggle 20 cartons of illicit liquor in their Mahindra Scorpio car.
Three others -- Shankar Soni, 24, Manish Bhardwaj, 37 and Jugnu Bhardwaj, 29 were arrested near Radisson hotel in south Delhi trying to smuggle seven cartons of illicit liquor.
