Constable rescues three kids from pit in Delhi

New Delhi, April 14 (IANS) An alert Delhi Police constable rescued three minor children who fell into a pit dug up by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) in central Delhi, police said Saturday.

 

Darya Ganj Police Station's constable Virender, 40, rescued the children aged 12-17 around 9.45 p.m. Friday after he heard their screams coming from the pit near Ramlila Ground.

 

With the help of passersby, the constable managed to rescue the children from the five-foot-deep pit. They were rushed to hospital and discharged after first add.

 

A case of negligence was registered against DJB officials, an official said.
