Kabul, April 13 (IANS) A total of 360 newly-graduating policemen have joined the Afghan National Police after completion of their training.
The policemen, including 120 officers, underwent a six-month training in a police training centre in Mazar-i-Sharif in the northern province of Balkh, an official told Xinhua Thursday.
The government and the NATO Training Mission in Afghanistan (NTM-A) have stepped up efforts to train and equip Afghan policemen and army as the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force has handed over security responsibilities of several areas to the local administration.
In 2014, Afghanistan is due to take over its full security duties from US and NATO forces.
