Mumbai, Apr 13 (ANI): Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Friday said Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will not pursue any political motive during his visit to Maharashtra.

"Following the statements coming from Nitish Kumar and Devesh Thakur, who clarified that the event does not have a political agenda, they are not going to pursue any political motive," said Thackeray.

Reiterating his opposition to events organized by northern Indian outfits to draw policital mileage, Thackeray said that he spoke to Nitish Kumar over the phone and told him that he will continue to do so in such cases.

"I have spoken to Nitish Kumar over telephone and I told him parties from northern India like Samajwadi Party and outfits of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar use such events for political gain and I have always opposed this and would continue to do so," said Thackeray.

"The misunderstanding have been clarified, I told him that neither his nor the chief minister's statements were wrong, it was the media who presented a wrong picture of the situation. Other than this we told him that our program is purely cultural in nature and has no political motive," said Thakur.

"I gave him the details of the event after which he got convinced, for which we thank him. He then informed the press that differences had been resolved," he added.
