New Delhi, Apr 13 (ANI): India on Friday expressed concern over Democratic People's Republic of Korea's (DPRK) attempt to launch a rocket.
In response to a question regarding DPRK's rocket launch, the official spokesperson of Ministry of External Affairs Syed Akbaruddin said that New Delhi noted with serious concern the attempted launch of rocket by North Korea as it violated the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolution.
"India notes with serious concern the attempted launch of a rocket by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) which violates United Nations Security Council Resolution 1874 and adversely impacts peace and stability in the Korean peninsula. India calls on DPRK not to undertake actions in violation of UNSC Resolutions."
North Korea had earlier in the day admitted that the launch of its long range rocket turned out to be a failure.
It was reportedly said that the rocket launch was carried out to conduct a banned test of long-range missile technology. (ANI)
