Golfer Darren Clarke marries saviour who helped him get over wife's death

London, Apr 13 (ANI): Golfer Darren Clarke tied the knot with the woman who helped him get over the death of his beloved wife six years ago.

Darren was devastated when his wife Heather died after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001.

He was ready to quit golf but she urged him not to give up the game he loved.

Darren, 43, married Alison Campbell, 47, in a romantic "secret" ceremony on beach in the Bahamas.

The small group of family and friends included fellow Ulsterman Graeme "G-Mac" McDowell, who set the couple up on a blind date in 2009.

They married under a white arch with calypso-style music at the five-star Abaco Club resort beside the Atlantic, the Daily Express reports.

Darren gave up golf briefly while he struggled to come to terms with the tragedy. (ANI)
