Now, robot that makes 100 pieces of sushi in 1 hour

New York, Apr 12 (ANI): A Japanese company has designed a robot, which could make thousands of pieces of sushi in just one hour.

The roll-bot unveiled last week by the Japanese company Suzumo, which bills itself as "the originator of sushi robots," can crank out one perfectly-formed piece of sushi per second, the New York Daily News reported.

The device was debuted at the World Food and Beverage Great Expo 2012 in Tokyo, Wired.com's Gadget Lab blog revealed.

According to Time.com, the gizmo can pump out one perfectly-formed, vinegar-soaked clump of rice per second. Whack a piece of fish on top, and you've got ready-to-eat nigiri sushi.

Another one of Suzumo's robots can crank out 300 full sushi rolls stuffed with fish, veggies and rice in a single hour - meaning one every 12 seconds, Gadget Lab's post said.

Suzumo said through a promotional video posted on YouTube that it introduced its first sushi-making robot in 1981, but is now taking it one step further by recreating "the handmade taste and technique used by an experienced sushi chef." (ANI)
