Tony Romo becomes father to a baby boy

New York, Apr 12 (ANI): Dallas Cowboys player Tony Romo's and wife Candice Crawford welcomed their first child, son Hawkins Crawford Romo on Monday.

The 31-year-old quarterback was congratulated by his NFL colleagues on the team's Twitter account.

"Congratulations to Tony Romo, proud papa of Hawkins Crawford Romo, born (Monday) at 5:30pm. 8 lbs 8 oz," the New York Daily News quoted the statement as saying.

According to his brother-in-law, 'Gossip Girl' star Chace Crawford, Romo has been more than prepared for fatherhood.

"He's over-the-moon excited about it," the actor recently told Us Magazine.

"He's just such a wonderful person ... He was born ready to have a family, you know what I mean? So it makes perfect sense," he said.

This is the first child for the couple, who were married in Dallas in May 2011. They announced the pregnancy in October. (ANI)
