Dubai, Apr 12(ANI): The International Cricket Council (ICC) has reportedly suspended its grants to the USA Cricket Association (USACA) due to poor governance.
An ICC spokesperson confirmed the development.
"It's correct that the USACA have not received any 2012 grants as they don't meet the membership criteria. Meeting all membership criteria is a funding policy requirement to receive grants. The reason they don't meet the criteria is that there has been no AGM [Annual General Meeting]," The Express Tribune quoted an ICC spokesperson, as saying.
The USACA had received its last funding in the fourth quarter of 2011.
The USACA's 2009 tax returns show that it received 392,413 dollars from the ICC, with the amount of funding to Associate countries being increased.
Its failure to hold any national domestic tournaments since July 2011 and poor governance has led the ICC to suspend its funding. (ANI)
