Lucknow, Apr 12 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday iled his nomination papers for the biennial elections to 13 seats of Legislative Council slated for April 26.
Akhilesh filed his nomination along with Samajwadi Party spokesman Rajendra Chaudhary.
Besides, three candidates of BSP-Thakur Jaiveer Singh, Vijay Pratap and Sunil Kumar-also filed their nominations.
Akhilesh, 38, who became the youngest chief minister of Uttar Pradesh on March 15, is now not a member of any of the houses of the legislature
Akhilesh and his party won 224 of the 403 state assembly seats.
He has been credited with reviving the party's image through his earnest approach and campaigns that won over the state's voters with promises of development. (ANI)
