Aarushi case: CBI reaches Nupur's residence after court issues NBW

New Delhi/Ghaziabad , Wed, 11 Apr 2012 ANI

New Delhi/Ghaziabad, Apr 11 (ANI): Hours after a special court in Ghaziabad issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against murdered Aarushi Talwar's mother Nupur Talwar for failing to make an appearance in the court during hearing of the case, the CBI has reached the Hauz Khas residence of the Talwars with the warrant.

The CBI is expected to arrest her.

The court issued the warrant earlier today after the CBI demanded the same due to Nupur Talwar's non-appearance.

The next date of hearing has been fixed for April 18, which means that the CBI could arrest her before then if she does not surrender.

The special CBI court had on March 14 asked Nupur to appear in court within 30 days. But the Talwars' counsel sought exemption on the basis of a pending plea in the Supreme Court against facing trial.

Aarushi's parents Rajesh and Nupur Talwar had filed a plea seeking review of its January 6 order in which the apex court had cleared the decks for the couple's trial in the murder case by dismissing their plea to quash criminal proceedings against them.

Fourteen-year-old Aarushi, the only daughter of the Talwars, was found dead at the family's Noida residence on the intervening night of May 15-16, 2008.

The body of their servant Hemraj was found next day on the terrace. (ANI)
