Ferguson extols custodian De Gea, as he eyes 'golden glove'

London, Apr 11(ANI): Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has lauded goal keeper David De Gea's incredible improvement this season, as he eyes finishing the Premier League season with maximum clean sheets, which would earn him the coveted golden glove.

De Gea was signed for 18.9 million pounds by United from Spanish La Liga side Atletico Madrid, but his introduction to the more physical Premier League wasn't the ideal one, as he came under heavy reproach for making a string of errors.

But he has now seemed to put aside his initials troubles by performing exceptionally for United, as he is yet to concede in the Premier League for seven hours and 33 minutes.

De Gea has kept ten clean sheets so far, trailing Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart by just three, with six games still left in the season.

Ferguson wants De Gea to cap a bittersweet campaign by securing the Golden Glove.David's been fantastic. His confidence is high and every game he is getting better. As I said about Antonio Valencia, if you have got players coming into form at this time of the season then it's bonus points," The Daily Star quoted Ferguson, as saying.David found it difficult at first, made mistakes, but I think we forgive players making mistakes at 21 years of age," he added.
