Selena Gomez pausing music career to focus on acting

Washington, April 10 (ANI): Selena Gomez is taking a sabbatical from music to focus on her acting career after lining up her first action movie alongside Ethan Hawke.

The 19-year-old wrapped filming on upcoming comedy 'Spring Breakers' last month and she recently replaced her friend Miley Cyrus in Adam Sandler's animated movie 'Hotel Transylvania'.

Now Gomez has signed on to star in 'The Getaway' and she admits the call of Hollywood has temporarily placed her music aspirations on hold.

"I'm just kind of halting music for a bit. (I've) been really focused on more acting. For me it's been fun to take risks and do things that are completely different," Contactmusic quoted her as telling Mtv News.

"It's really, really exciting. I go to Bulgaria and then I start filming. It's more of an action movie, which is also different," she added about her new movie. (ANI)
