Patna, April 10 (IANS) A Bihar court Tuesday awarded life imprisonment to a school teacher on charges of stabbing BJP legislator Raj Kishore Keshri to death last year.
A Special Central Bureau of Investigation court here sentenced Pathak. Last month, the court had convicted her in the case and fixed April 10 to decide the quantum of punishment
In August, the court said Pathak would be booked for murder instead of the lesser charge of culpable homicide after hearing a petition by Sudip Kesri, nephew of the slain Bharatiya Janata Party legislator.
Pathak alleged that Kesri, legislator from Purnia constituency, raped her for over three years.
According to police, Pathak, in her mid-40s, went to Kesri's home in Purnia and stabbed him to death in the presence of many people in January last year.
