London, Apr 9 (ANI): Robbie Savage made a unique bet with a Geordie taxi driver, promising to get him a new cab if Newcastle United qualify for the Champions League.
The Magpies are now sixth in the Premier League, three points behind Spurs in fourth, the final Champions League qualifying place.
The cabbie, known only as Matty, rang BBC Radio Five Live's 606 show, where Savage is a presenter, at the weekend after Newcastle beat Swansea 2-0.
"If Newcastle finish in the top four mate, I'm a man of my word. As much as I thought they would never finish there, I promise you, if they do, I'll have to buy you the taxi," the Daily Star quoted the 'Strictly Come Dancing' star as telling Matty.
A traditional black cab costs around 32,000 pounds new.
The ex-Wales international thought the cab driver's prediction was "bonkers" when he met him on the 'Strictly' tour but he signed a taxi receipt to mark the wager.
"I hope you do buy it Robbie, I think we are going to get the place," Matty told him on radio. (ANI)
